BFC is dedicated to empowering adolescents to make healthy and responsible choices leading to academic success and overall wellness. Adolescent services build on the strengths and capabilities of youth, while providing community support as they strive to reach their full potential.
- The ZONE
A school-based youth services program located on the Dwight Morrow & Academies High School campus, provides comprehensive clinical and primary prevention programs to students.
Services include, but are not limited to; individual and group counseling, tutoring, work force readiness, leadership development, health education, recreation, and a vast range of primary prevention programs. Services are free and voluntary and offered Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM.
- Teen Leadership Council
A program initiated by the Bergen Family Center and administered in partnership with the Kaplan JCC on the Palisades, TLC promotes service learning and leadership. Students representing the 4 Wards of Englewood and other local middle and high schools dedicate the year to developing leadership skills, while planning a county wide youth leadership conference attracting over 300 students per year.
- Facing Forward
BFC supports the implementation of Facing Forward, a program dedicated to developing character, life and leadership skills leading to academic success. The program aims to prevent juvenile delinquency, while promoting healthy choice making by offering a structured leadership and recreation program. The program is available to Janis Dismus Middle School students.
